2 families need full-time hours and one family needs part-time hours (pt hours TBD but I’m guessing it’ll be about 27 hrs per week while the other families need 40-45). My question is this: do I sign on and get paid at a 2:1 ratio and then 3:1 while the 3rd child is there or do I get paid a 2:1 ratio and have the pt family pay the single rate of the 2:1 ratio? I’m fine with either way but wanted to go in with something in mind for when we go over everything and since they’re using a payroll system, I’m not sure if they’ll want to call to make the adjustments every week.

Oh, and I’m also not sure how that works with OT if there’s 2 different rates? They are FTM and they’ve been asking me all the questions like ‘how’ does this work. |
| $12 hour per family |
Plus overtime pay. |
| 2 is a share. 3 is a home daycare. |
A family home daycare is a business operating out of a person’s home where the provider (a person who has met state requirements such as trainings, clock hours, et., in child care) cares for 1 or more children (not to exceed 8 for small home daycare or 12 for for large home daycare) that are not their own. So, I’m pretty sure if you called OCC to inquire about caring for 2 children, simultaneously, in a home, they will tell you to that you should obtain a business license. It does not have to be your home to operate a family home daycare. God forbid something traumatic happens in a share, they will really start cracking down (no matter how many children) but the IRS is still getting their money, so who cares. But just because you can’t care for 3 children, don’t knock others hustle. |

OP, you need to have more information.
-Location is important. Where is the share? DC proper versus out in the burbs affects rate. -Hours are crucial. There's a difference between 40 hours and 45 hours (overtime). You absolutely need to have guaranteed hours for every family. I'd want at least $10 per hour per family, plus OT when applicable. |
