Background check?

We are hiring a new nanny who came to us from a family she has been working with for 8 years, and before that she was with her first family for 7 years. The last family she was with did a background check when they hired her... so wondering if we should do one or not. The only reason this family is parting with her is because all of the kids are in school full time now.

Good to do for peace of mind, or not needed?

I would always run a background check - a good fingerprinting one - and offer her the opportunity to background check you and your partner.

Do a background check. You don't know what has happened within the last 8 years.
