Our AP has less than a month left and it couldn't arrive any sooner.
She has become quite defiant and deliberately breaking rules that we have told her about repeatedly. I think she is just 100% spent, and is ready to move on (as are we). Unfortunately, there is a week overlap with the new AP. We are now worried that she's going to pass on her toxicity to the new AP. Any advice on how to mitigate this? Thanks. |
Send her on her travel month a week early? I try to avoid overlapping outgoing and incoming APs for more than a day or two, and I explain to both that our needs and expectations change from year to year. |
If at all possible, would cut her loose for travel/vacation a week early. Maybe you could use that as an incentive to have a good attitude for the next three weeks. It will be difficult for her to not pass on her negativity to the new au pair. |
Thanks---everything is booked, including both APs travel plans so I can't really change it--it's comin up soon. So I need advice on how to deal with the situation as it will present. |
In the same boat here. Lesson learned, but we have an overlap scheduled for mid September |
Talk to your LCC and boot her for the week, even if it means paying the LCC per night.
Booked or not, the defiant attitude could use talk of "rematch" even if it is for 1-2 weeks. See how she behaves if she gets kicked out early for breaking rules. |
Give her the time off to enjoy DC (or whatever place you live in) |
+1, just give her the time off and schedule new AP around her schedule. |
