what is a fair rate for an experienced caretaker for taking care of 2 yr, 4 yr old, and taking and picking yp 5 yr old to/from school bus , followed by taking care of all 3 for 2-3 hrs.
thanks. |
| For only a few hours a day, you'll probably have to pay at least $25 an hour or its not worth their time. |
| $25-$30/hour if 3+ hours but more if less than three hours |
Whatever she charges. |
|
to clarify
its a full time job (but the 5 yr old is only around for 2-3 hrs) does that change the rate? thanks |
$25 to $30. The nanny, I assume, will also be responsible for the five-year-old on school holidays and sick days as well as his/her laundry. |
+1. Your potential nanny candidates will have a rate for your position. Makes no difference what we say. |
You still need to pay full-time for 3 kids as there are sick days, holidays, no school days. $18-25. |
| Most competitive candidates will be around $25+, which you'll want for three young kids if you can afford it. You might be able to find someone with less experience, like a recent grad or newer to nanny profession for around $20/hr. But it also isn't hard for nannies to get around $20/hr for 1-2 kids. Rate is just one part of package though, so depends on other things also. |
| Where do you live? Most people on DCUM hike up the rates. I would think 20-22 is reasonable. You don’t need to pay $25 for someone good, legal and experienced. |
| $18-$25 an hour. The rate will likely not change when she has the 5yo as well. Assuming you want her to have him when he is off school as well. |
| $25 |
