Nannies, are you working tomorrow? |
My Nanny is and we are in DC. 15.00 an hour ![]() |
What does you paying your nanny have to do with her working? Troll! |
Won’t find out until tomorrow. I’ll go in late, if at all. |
Tomorrow? I’ve been setting up play dates for tomorrow for the last hour! |
This is the same poster who always writes in to brag that her $15 nanny works like a dog. We are all supposed to be impressed by her bargain-hunting since she believes that all nannies are basically just McDonalds workers who keep the kids alive and the house clean. Those of us who actually know anything about child development or professionalism are just duping our poor employers. |
I am expected to be at work no later than 10AM, and DH is expected to telecommute. Our nanny lives 45 minutes away, and we don't want her on the roads first thing in the morning.
Not sure yet how the rest of the day will play out, but we are in a conundrum, for sure. |
You are correct. I truthfully don't find that your services require that much 'education' and are very blue collar. I do take GREAT pride in bargain hunting, and getting the MOST of my hard earned money. I am sure you feel the same way, whenever you buy anything or use any service.
It is VERY SAD that i get lambasted for pushing for maximum nanny utilization
|
Poster,
I think the fact that nannies that work for less than you, and do the same level fo work (if not more) scares you, as it should!
|
You get lambasted bc you are a troll trying to push your agenda of exploiting nannies under the guise of “getting your monies worth” (which is completely subjective btw). I find it VERY SAD that you have nothing better to do than disparage nannies and those that are better employers than you. Go troll somewhere else. |
I think the fact that everyone doesn’t agree with you scares you. I think you hate yourself, as you should! |
I am not some nanny troll insisting that we all make $30 per kid. I am a normal nanny with enough education and experience to compete in the market. I make $23 per hour in my current job and I have never had any trouble finding work, so I am hardly threatened by what some random person who I would clearly not choose to work for for many reasons does or does not pay. |
My sister is a retired teacher (20 years elementary school) with a masters in early child development. She works as a nanny now and gets $32 an hour. So yeah, some ppl really care about that aspect. and pay for it. She does no housekeeping, no dog-walking, no laundry -- she is a childcare only. |
This is good to hear. There ARE parents out there who understand the importance of the foundational years of their child's development, and who CAN afford the very best care they can find. |
