M street NW DC at night

Hi friends,
I am new in VA. There is family who is coming from another state.
They need care for three nights ( not over night it’s 6 pm to 12 am)
They are going to stay at DC Airbnb ( M street NW DC)
I don’t know them they contacted me through care.com.
My question is about safety. When I leave at 12.00 am is it safe to go to my car?
The parking lot is half mile away.
Please need advice
Their place is not offering parking .
Or do you guys prefer uber

I live in Georgetown (n st) and I have no issues walking anywhere, at any time of the day or night. M is long, where are they? Closer to Wisconsin, rock creek, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Thomas circle?

Uber or have them pay for taxi to your parked car

I would not walk by myself for half a mile near 304 M St NW after midnight. Have them walk you to your car or pay for an Uber.
