The dress code post has me wondering what others wear. I ALWAYS wear yoga pants and capris; very rarely wear anything else. I do wear tunics and cardigans that cover my butt. I cannot imagine wearing anything else and having the mobility that I need with toddlers. You? |
My uniform is Lands’ End Starfish pants or capris depending on the season (I don’t wear or own shorts!) and a t-shirt of some kind - nothing low cut/too short or see through. When it gets cold I add a hoodie. Flip flops in summer and sneakers in winter. Pretty boring but works for me! |
Same. Like a uniform. Black yoga pants and a long white turtleneck knit top. I have five pairs of black yoga pants and five white shirts. The shirts cover my hips and butt completely. Now that it is colder, I wear long cardigan tunic sweaters over it.
I am boring but clean! |
I wear the Beta rand yoga pants - they are a tad nicer that regular yoga pants - always black and a knit shirt that covers my butt. Black socks and black running shoes. |
I wear Old Navy Rockstar pants. They are stylish, but also very comfortable. They also have leggings that are great if I want to dress up a little more. I wear different tops from shirts to sweaters, but never bathing too low cut. I’m fair-skinned and cover up in summer too with a light layer. |
When I was a nanny I would always wear leggings or t shirts. Sneakers in winter and flip flops in summer. Occasionally I would wear jeans if I had something to do after work and needed to look more presentable than just leggings. I have never been given a dress code by any families I’ve worked for. If I did, I would have run for the hills. I’m an extremely conservative dresser and never wear anything revealing. Except in the summer I wear shorts and I went to old navy and purchased some non denim shorts that hit me above the knee. |
Work out clothes and clothes I don’t mind getting dirty. So basically, joggers, leggings, yoga pants, sweatshirts, tees and hoodies. |
Jeans. T-shirt.
Sometimes shorts. |
How old are you? |
Cooler weather:
Either Fabletics yoga pants and Under Armor long sleeve top w/jacket Or AE jeggings and various sweaters and sweatshirts Summer is always cheaper and usually athletic shorts from Target with t-shirt or tank. |
Dresses in the summer and dresses/tunics with leggings in the winter. Mostly flip flops (I'm still wearing flip flops now), boots and occasionally high heels.
My kids are teenagers, so I don't really take care of them. I do a lot of driving, homework supervision and cooking. |
Depends on the position/family.
A previous position was long sleeve tees and long skirts (all the girls wore skirts, boys wore pants year-round, everyone wore long sleeves year round). Last position was long skirts on activity days, jeans on active days, short sleeve tees year-round. Current position is jeans with belt loops (for a carabiner of keys and to keep up with active kids) and short sleeve tees year-round. Denim capris with belt loops in the summer. I don’t wear shorts, can’t do long skirts with this family. |
Skirts? Wow. Were they religious? |
For the most part I’ll wear leggings/ yoga pants and a top that covers my bottom or tie a button up around my waist. Now that the girls are a bit older and not as messy, from time to time, I might wear a nice pair of pants (not jeans) and a nice top- I get tired of dressing “down” sometimes.
If you don’t want to wear yoga pants I would recommend buying “work” clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. I recently bought some inexpensive (a little below the knee) sweater dresses that I would wear when I don’t want to dress down during the winter. |
I happen to like long skirts, and it’s better during the summer (nice and breezy). The family that had the kids wearing long skirts/pants and long sleeves is religious, the others aren’t. |
