Nanny rolled her eyes at DS RSS feed

He was having a temper tantrum and I walked in the room (I work from home) and saw nanny roll her eyes before sporting me and going bright red. Should I be concerned about her lack of patience? I have to admit, it did surprise me.

Have you never rolled your eyes? Nannies are human too, As long as she handled the tantrum in an appropriate way I think its fine.

OP you can't be serious. If this is your biggest complaint about your nanny then you are lucky. If this is just one of many that's a different story. Some perspective is needed here.

Why do you walk in like this ? She is in charge, that's why you pay her.

You shouldn't be mad at her for being human and roll her eyes. You should be mad at yourself for not respecting her work by walking in like this ... and you need to address that tantrum issue as well.

I just rolled my eyes at you, OP.

Since your child was having a tantrum, he couldn't see it, and that's all that matters. As long as everything she said and did was right and patient, who cares that she had a moment of "here we go again."

Fire her. Not because she's wrong or bad, but you're a miserable employer and she deserves better.

I roll my eyes when my kid is having a tantrum over something stupid all the time. I don't let her see it, of course, but honestly, have you never done that?

From the time my oldest DD was 2.5 to almost 3.5 she burst into tears at the smallest thing. Her potatoes were touching her eggs. She wanted to sit down first. The man arrived and was wearing a red shirt. The nurse gave her a bandaid. She wanted to put her feet in her shoes before I opened the laces. The dog chose to pee here instead of there. And on and on.

DH and I rolled our eyes a lot. She's 7 now, and a sheer joy to be around.

Not at all nannny related but I laughed at this because this is our life. Today DD cried because her younger sister (who is only 4 months old and can’t sit up yet) might one day be taller and older DD wants to be the tallest. Three minute long fit about that. So yes. I rolled my eyes too!

My goodness! How dare she acknowledge that your ridiculous child was being ridiculous? Now your child might grow up thinking that not every single emotional response is as big a deal as it first seems. Poor thing will probably be in therapy for years and years over this shocking lack of validation.
