How responsible do you feel for a recommendation/reference? RSS feed

I introduced one of my fellow preschool teachers to a family friend who is looking for a weekend nanny. I like this teacher but don’t know her that well.

Anyway, they met and got along. I want to bow out now but both the mother and teacher/nanny are calling me about hours, duties, scheduling, etc. that should be handled by them. I made the introduction and am done, right?

At this point I feel that if it works out or not - I should not be involved. Is that right?

You should no longer be involved. They should be able to go forward on their own.

Yes, you should be done.

Of course you should be done! How odd that they're still calling you.

I have had this “odd” situation before. I just stay out of it.

Yes, after the initial introduction it is entirely up to them to do the rest.

It’s nice to hear that they were a good match!
