How far in advance do you start searching for a summer only nanny? Do people guarantee hours and provide benefits for summer only positions?

I start looking in March on college boards. Less time is needed if going thru an agency.

Yes, you have to guarantee hours. No other benefits except sick days if needed (don’t want my kids to catch anything).

We were looking for a specific language college summer nanny and always started looking at the beginning of the spring semester. Yes, we guaranteed hours and paid in cash. Plus a gift (money) at the end of the summer. No other benefits beyond always providing her with lunch and breakfast.

I’m also provided breakfast and lunch everyday at my nanny job, although I work full time year round. Most of the time though I bring my own lunch and eat breakfast before work. It’s a nice touch.

OP here - Thanks so much! I'll plan to start looking in early to mid spring then.
