| Ok, so my current nanny family has not been paying me so I'm looking for a new job. I'm signing with an agency and they need copies of my cards/license. Well guess what? My wallet is gone! My license, health card, and ss card were all in there! I don't have a copy of my birth certificate and don't know how to get one because I'm in a different state. How can I get replacements when all my proof of It are gone? |
| Just find your wallet. Think about the last time you touched it and what you were wearing (check the pockets) and what room you were in, and what purse or bag you used. Find it. |
You should be able to order another license online (at least in the DMV you can- I have lost my license twice this year) and receive it within 5-7 business days. You can also print out
Once you get your license everything else will fall in place. However, you need to look for your stuff. Do you have CC in there- cancel all your cards, now. You should be able to print out your insurance card online too and have them send you a new one. Side note: I always make copies of my license just in case- email it to yourself. Good luck! |
Didn't mean to type that |
| They haven't been paying you, you're now looking for another job, and your wallet is missing? I don't believe in coincidence. Call the police and file a report but let them know that you're doing it. It may mysteriously reappear. Then get out. |

Agree with PPs re tracing your steps and finding it.
Having had mine stolen before (while traveling!), it really isn’t that hard. I do keep copies on a thumb drive because I’m paranoid, but my ccs were cancelled immediately and reissued, my license was super easy, and once I had my license, I could get my ss card, then passport again. I actually had three separate copies of my insurance cards, so I didn’t have to replace that, just notify them that one set was gone, but they told me that it happens frequently. |
