How do you find a babysitting when you have and emergency and how much should I pay her? |
we have 6 babysitters who we can call for back up care. Both my kids go to school and day care when they get sick 1/6 nannies is bound to be available since most of them have part time jobs. There has been maybe 2-3 times in about 2 years where I had to stay home with my daughter because she gets sick quite often. You can also advertise for occasional babysitters on care or sitter city. You can maybe go out to date night once and see if the babysitter works out and if so you can ask if she’s available for on call |
You can also use an agency. |
Hire many sitters with different schedules or use an agency.

I would try to develop a relationship with a few trusted sitters; I would not be comfortable leaving my children in the care of just anyone an agency sent. |
You should have had an emergency plan from the very beginning. |

Nanny |
I have a couple of babysitters, a former nanny, a close friend and in a real emergency a trusted neighbor.
I also use metroparentrelief when I have a day or two to plan and they've been great. |
You or your DH stay home and take care of your child. |
There are also a few Facebook groups specifically for this purpose. If you search "babysitter" and your general area in FB you should see a few pop up.
