I am interviewing nanny for my son.
I just had interview with someone who’s nick name is Dee Dee or DD. Is this common nick name? I never heard it What’s meaning of that? |
| My aunts name is Delores. Everyone calls her Dee Dee |
|
Sure, reasonably common for all sorts of names starting w/ D.
Why does it matter? |
|
Yeah, it is common. I've known a number of women named Dede. My son also decided on his own to call his grandmother DeDe.
Why did it strike you as odd, OP? Are you foreign-born? |
|
My best friend from high school is nicknamed DeeDee. Short of Dierdre.
You must not be from this country, OP. |
| Thanks for your reply replies yes I am not from here. |
| Didi. |
| i have a cousin named Danielle and when she was a very little girl, her parents and siblings called her "DeeDee." I wouldn't say it's "common" but not something I'd raise an eyebrow at either. |
| I also know a Dierdre who goes by Didi. It's unlikely to be DD, more likely to be Didi or DeeDee. |
|
Don't hire her. It is her stage name as a stripper, DD, for her big ol' double-d boobies.
(really, op) |
Op here, Why some of you guys so harsh. It was just question. What kids could learn from you if you have this kind of manners |
| Depending on her name she may have found it’s easier for kids to call her DD. I got a cute nickname from one of my former charges who couldn’t say my real name and I’ve continued using it with other charges |
I'm the pp who had a cousin named Danielle. Yes, that is how she came to be called "Dee Dee"--her older sisters coudn't pronounce Danielle when she was born, so they said "Dee Dell" and eventually it just became shortened to Dee Dee. |
