I'd quit any job that didn't pay me when your local government was telling people to stay off the roads.
We're already working for relatively little money, so there isn't much of a cushion... unlike our employers.

If you can't afford guaranteed pay for a full time nanny, you can't afford a nanny. Nannies are a luxury.

That's exactly right. I know of someone who didn't get paid although she's working for that family full time. ?

I did, My nanny family doesn't nickel and dime me. In return I am VERY flexible and do things that I haven't been asked to do.

I agree. Nannies need to make sure that you have this in your contracts. In the DMV area we haven’t been getting that much snow days. You don’t want a big snow that will keep you home for three days and not get paid.

Per my contract I follow government closures, delays and holidays. I get paid for all of them. I do not get paid my overtime rate for these days as I didn’t actually work overtime. They instead pay me my regular amount but I always get paid for 52 hours a week. The only time I will not get paid is if I take a personal vacation outside of my 2 weeks paid vacation.

I didn't work and I haven't even read the contract thoroughly since we updated it (added inclement weather policy). I guess I could still argue if I don't get paid, no one signed the revised contract.
