What's a typical Christmas bonus for an awesome nanny? Thanks!

One weeks pay(gross), and a small gift.

Usually a weeks pay and a gift from the child

We give two weeks pay net (taxed).

Depends. 1-2 weeks pays and/or gift cards are impersonal, while a gift made by the child is cute and sentimental. Gifts that the parents buy can be great if you know the nanny well enough to know what she wants or needs, especially if it's something she can't or won't get for herself, but random hygiene things or other impersonal gifts from the parents are not usually received well unless you know what she likes.

Only a cheapskate employer would say a cash bonus is "impersonal". Just go away, PP.
My employers give me an annual bonus of one month's pay. There's nothing impersonal about that. Believe me.

Who cares if it's "impersonal". At least the nanny can get what she wants with the money or pick her own gift with the giftcard.
Everybody likes cash

A year end/holiday bonus is standard at one or two weeks pay. An added gift of a personal item is generally but not always added on top of the bonus.

15.27 here. Cash may not be impersonal to you, but it is to most people. It requires zero knowledge of the person, zero thought into what they like. I did not say that it wouldn't be appreciated.

For myself, I prefer a mix of cash and a highly personal gift if my employer really knows me. If they don't, impersonal cash is best!

It's not easy to find a highly personal gift.
I am very hard to shop for ...
People know I like to eat ... so they give me cook books ... but the thing is I like to eat, I hate cooking !!!

We've usually given more like 3-4 weeks pay, plus a nice present (i.e. Tiffany jewelry). She's an amazing nanny.
