I have been a nanny for many years. And sometimes there is just that special child or children (I have had two over the years) who just grab that special place in your heart. Not that I didn't care for the others - I did and was devoted to them when I worked with them - but when I left them, I rarely thought of them again.
However, I have one former charge who is now nearly ten who I cared for from the time he was born until he was three and started a daycare/school program who is still very much a part of my life. He is special to me. And my current charge, a little girl who I have cared for since she was born and is now two who is also just a part of my heart. These two children are my joy. I feel so blessed to have them in my life. Don't know why I felt the need to post this today - but thanks for letting me! |

Some charges just touch your heart in a way that is both wonderful and surprising! Some children are just special.
I have one little guy who is "my heart" and always will be. |

| When people tell me my kids are lucky to have me for a nanny I tell them you don't know how lucky I am to have them in my life. It is truly a joy to get up everyday and be in a rush to get to work. |

Yes, I have one former charge who I still see once a week and talk to several times a week. Just him though - the others were darling but I was fine not seeing much of them again. It's true - sometimes you just hit on that amazing connection. I have that with this boy, too. |

I just left a position of two years where the little boy, now 2.5, loves me and talks about me all the time. He is cute but... no connection. I doubt I will see much of him after he transitions slowly to his new school and new nanny.
But there is one former charge who I pick up from school once a week for free and he hasn't been my charge for over four years - that boy is my special connection. I would gladly lay down my life for this little boy. |

Nanny here. I too have special charges in my heart 
I was talking about it with my husband yesterday about how I was lucky to have met some of the families I worked for and how I was looking forward to sometimes in the future being invited to their weddings and seeing them grow up as beautiful persons
