What's the best rate to pay an after school nanny who will also have her two kids?

What's the best rate to offer an after school nanny who will also have her two kids with her when she watches my kids?
She will pick up my kids at about 4pm from their school (which is about 5 mins from her house) and, depending on the activity, and bring them to my house (also nearby) or take them to an activity until we get home at about 6pm. Would like to pay her a good, fair and competitive rate.

Did you ask her? If not - stop posting here and simply ask her what her range is and then pay close o the top of her range.

I would say something like $12 / hour sounds more than fair. If anything, it's a bit on the high side, but it's very hard to find someone to cover those hours and the total number of hours is pretty limited.

That is really low, PP! Regardless of having her children with her, she is still providing you with a service. At least 15 an hour.

Thanks! I was thinking $16 an hour, plus mileage.
