Care in VA?

How much would you charge for 2 children (2 and 5)?
Hours are 8-5.
The 5 yr old will be in school until 3:00 (parents drop her off) so would only have her from 3-5 (I pick her up).
The 2 yr old will be with me all day.
This is in Alexandria VA. Guaranteed 40 hours with possibility of 5-10 OT hours per week (taxes withheld)?

I've been working with children for 11 years. Marjority of my experience comes from working with infants- preschoolers in child care centers but have 2 years of nanny experience. Parents prefer someone who has experience in centers over nanny experience (children are from daycare but they needed to make adjustments). I obtain my CDA, certified in CPR, First Aid and MAT. 11 years of certified trainings related to early childhood w/ certificate. Completed some college courses in Early Childhood (planning to go back). Also, housekeeping is another responsibility I will have.

I would not accept less than $25 an hour and I certainly would not do any housekeeping that is not directly related to the children.

Get your BA in Early Childhood Education or Development, OP, and you can command more.

kids laundry, cleaning common areas use by myself and children and loading dish washer. They offered me $22 w/ benefits- paid vacations, sick and all federal holidays.

Kids' laundry and kids' cooking and cleaning are expected. Cleaning the common areas sounds like bathrooms and vacuuming kids' areas and common areas; this isn't common. $22 with benefits (2 weeks PTO) sounds about right, but remember that you are also on call for the child who will be in school.

Oh no, it's states in the contract that vacuuming (on occasions) and straightening up. The mom even said the girl can help with that because their teaching her how to do chores now. I don't do bathrooms, I don't even like to clean my own bathroom haha. But I made sure every detail is in writing! Thanks for your feedback!
