Have other nannies experienced this? I've worked for three different moms who do not cut their sons hair. It's not my business, but I am just wondering why? Do they have some attachment to it? My current charge (6) expressed he wants a hair cut because the kids at school call him a girl, and that it gets in the way and is uncomfortable for him. He told me mom won't let him. Should I bring this up to her?
Is this post even real??!
Umm... Tell him to tell his mom and you stay out of it?
I am sure the boy tells his mother the same things he's told you. If not, that family has far more problems than the boy's hair.
I have told him to tell his mother, but she won't listen to him. It's ultimately up to her, but it just hurts me to know he is getting picked on. I would never tell her she needs to cut his hair, but I think she should take his opinion into consideration.
I've met a few families like this. I can appreciate that people have preferred haircuts for their kids. I must admit that it bothers me when my friends won't let their children that my friends who refuse to let a child have a voice in choosing a hairstyle. Most of the time the kids requests are perfectly reasonable.
I have absolutely worked for MBs like this. They don't want their sweet little baby to grow up and be a big boy. That's the long and short of it. *rimshot*

I'm a MB, but this drives me nuts too. If a kid (boy or girl) wants a haircut, they should be able to get a haircut.
If I were you, I would say to MB. "hey Johnny has been telling me that he wants a haircut. I'd be happy to bring him to the barber or Snippets after school if you are busy." |
Probably fake but if not quit. You're working for a maniac.
Give him a big wad of gum and tell him to go to bed with it in his mouth.
