Feel bad about vacation

| Does any other nanny feel bad about taking a vacation from their families? I've been working with my family for 3 years and has never taken a vacation, and I can count on one hand how many times I've called out sick or just because. So last week I started my vacation and is having a great time, then my MB texted me asking to come in because she needed my help. I declined, but felt slightly bad about it. Has this happened to anyone else? |

| That's nuts. Tell her you're out of town and can't. I'm a MB and I insist my nanny take time off. Stop worrying about my kid for a few days. Think about yourself for a while. |

No, I don't feel bad. I'm good at my job because I take time off to relax and be away from my job once or twice a year.
I wouldn't cut my vacation short. I work hard and deserve my vacation like every other working person. . If there was a real emergency, I would maybe consider it but it would be on a case to case basis. |

I think it is totally out of line for your MB to have the nerve of actually sending you a text asking for your help during your vacation.
You enjoy your time off & do not let guilt ruin your break. |
