| Could someone point me to an example of a severance agreement for a nanny? I have found examples of agreements not specifically for nannies, but they are pretty long and heavy on legalese and I don't want to scare our nanny. I would like something shorter and more "plain English" so the nanny will feel comfortable signing it. |

Would this be as part of a larger employment agreement/contract? Or are you letting your nanny go and spelling out details? Not clear from your question and I think it makes a difference...
We have had 2 nannies, one for 3 years, one for 2 years. When we hired we spelled out all kinds of details related to employment, benefits, compensation, etc. We also spelled out our request for 1 months' notice if she left, and agreed to provide at least one months' notice if/when we were ready to let her go (unless for cause). In the unlikely event that we had given her less than 1 months' notice we agreed to pay the difference. There are lots and lots of pretty straightforward agreements like this online. |
| Severance agreement for nanny we are letting go. She started out as an occasional sitter and over time morphed into a nanny so we never ended up having a written agreement for her. I want an agreement where she says that she's been paid everything that she's owed, she's getting severance for which she waives all claims, that sort of thing. Just to be clear, we have no conflict with this nanny that we are trying to CYA for, just think it's good to have something like this in writing when you let go of someone. |
| Did you ever find a template for this? Also searching for one and this was the first result returned in Google. We're in similar situation as you describe below. Thanks! |
