Our daytime nanny will be watching our son over an upcoming weekend. We pay her $18/hour for her daytime (part-time) hours. What is an appropriate pay for overnights?

You pay her regular salary (incl. overtime if there is any) for all waking hours and a set amount for the night, to compensate for not sleeping in her own bed, etc - usually $50-100, though it varies. Ask your nanny.

We pay the same hourly rate as you for regular hours, but when we're out of town we pay $300 per 24h (but she doesn't get her regular pay).

Considered a "travel day" by our contract, any overnight and day is $350.

Nanny here- $29/hr regular rate (no overtime) until the kids bedtime, then $100 flat rate until the kids wake up, so 9pm to 7am is $100.

She needs to be paid her regular hourly rate (and ot if applicable) for the times the children will be awake - 14 - 15 hours a day I would think - and then a flat stipend for the overnight portion that is not less than minimum wage worked out per hour. So 14 hours at regular rate (6 am - 8 pm for example) and then $100 - 125 for the overnight 10 hours.

If she is not free to leave sleeping kids then she should be paid her regular hourly fee plus overtime to all hours over 40 for the week. She is sleeping with one foot on the floor and is not getting a good night's sleep.

When we left our 1 year old for a night, we paid the regular rate until the baby was asleep, then $50 for overnight until she woke up. She slept through the night, but if she had been up, we would've added on extra for the wakeup time.

I'm paid my hourly rate until 11 pm plus a $50 overnight fee. When the kids wake up my hourly rate starts again.

When we do overnights we pay her hourly rate for the normal workday day (7-3), OT rate for extra awake hours, (6AM-7AM & 3PM-8PM), then a flat $100 for the overnight. All 3 of our children sleep through they night.
