We have bird mites RSS feed

I just realized we have bird mites. Nest rest outside our bedroom window and we've had the windows open and the ac on at times. Its awful and we are working on getting rid of them.

I nanny for 3 kids and I feel lime its just not responsible for me to go in. I would never want to bring these into anyone else's house.

I also am super embarassed about this. I don't want my employer to think I'm filthy or something. If anything I'm slightly OCD.

Can I just ask for unpaid vacation until its fixed?

You can ask, but unless you're willing to give a reason, it's likely to be rejected since it's last minute.

Wow OP, I'm so sorry! Years ago when I though I had scabies - didn't - I had been Googling for hours and came upon a forum that also talked about burd mites and how horrible it was. I really wish you the best.

A few items I remember that were apparently good to use: 20 Mule Borax and Arm and Hammer Free and Clear Detergent. Also Pomada de Sufre or something like that for your body.

As a MB, if you told me what you'd written here I'd be more than happy to to give you unpaid time off until it's resolved and I'd appreciate your consideration in letting me know. But I have decent backup care available, so it's not as much as a headache for me when our nanny needs time off than some families.

Another MB, without easy backup care, but I would also be totally fine if you told me what you said here, and I would have given you a few days off. I'd rather do that then risk you bringing it into my house. Good luck!
