How to say it nicely ~

One of the family that I work with want me to babysit their baby for tomorrow (on my day off). One of the parents is fighting something (maybe flu or coughs). I am not sure about their baby. How can I ask them if their baby is sick free? I'm not comfortable to work with sick baby because I'm part time nanny for another baby who is 5 months old baby. I want to ask them nicely if their baby is healthy and I want to told them that I make money as babysitter so I cannot get sick or pass the germs to other kids/babies that I look after.

Hi Jenny, I would be happy to babysit but can only say yes if Little Johnny is healthy. I'm nannying for a newborn right now so I have to be extra careful about not exposing myself to any illnesses. When you said that you were fighting off an illness I thought I had better check before I said yes."

OP, you babysit multiple children for a living. Sorry to say, you are exposed to sickness and germs everyday. You are going to be turning down a lot of work if you aren't ever willing to be around possibly sick kids.

I don't know ~ is like 50/50. I texted the parents like what poster 14.15 advise me. The parents gave me long explanation (the whole family got colds and recovering from coughs) but they do understand my concern. I told them I will babysit their son and want them to confirm the hours. No reply. At 5.30 pm I text them again saying I got another job offer so please get back to me asap. They said don't worry maybe I can watch their son next week. I confirm with other family. Now (like just few mins ago) the parents text me back saying they want me to babysit their son since they asked me first. I'm like WTF??

I'll charge extra $$ if I need to care for sick kids because if I got the germs I will be out of work maybe for a week or more. Family also wont hire me if they know I not 100 percent healthy. So I better turn down this one and keep the money flow coming.
