For the first time I am going on vacation with my NF for 10 days - from a Saturday to a Sunday. They're paying for my flights, plus a hotel room for me. I only work Monday-Friday so my question is will the weekend days that I will be working on vacation be bonus comp days? I'm happy to go on vacation with them and I know all of my expenses are paid so I feel a little guilty about asking, but I'll be working 4 total Saturday/Sunday's plus the week before and after the vacation. It's just quite a bit of time without a full day from kids.
On vacation, I imagine I'll be spending the majority of my days with the family and kids, although I'm sure they wouldn't have an issue if I chose to have dinner alone. I'd love to hear what MB's would do in this position. Thank you! |
| I'm not sure what you mean by bonus comp days. If you work over 40 hours, you'll get overtime. If you don't, you don't. You're going along to work, so work, then enjoy your time off. |

I guess you could ask for comp days in lieu of being paid OT for the weekend work- not totally above board, but if you both agree to it it's a solution.
You either get paid OR you get comp time. Not both. |
| Comp time is illegal for hourly employees. Nannies are hourly employees. If you work on weekends over 40 hours, you are paid overtime at 1.5 time your normal houly rate. This is Federal law. |
