Then I found this one:
Hello and thank you for expressing interest in our nanny position! As the posting said we are looking for a live in or full time nanny for the whole of next year. Basically, we have are our son who is 3, daughter who is 1 (2 in July), and the new baby is expected in June. I work 4 days in then 4 days off and I alternate between days and nights. Also, I work lots of overtime and that is a strain on the family. This is why a live in or full time will help next year during the time before and after pregnancy and my wife has had C sections for every child, which will require recovery time. My main objective for my children is a character/spiritual development, academic development and stimulation commiserate to their level, and a structured environment where they do and are exposed to the same right things everyday. We have been heavily pursuing an option called and Au Pair, which are 18-25ish folks from international locations that come to America as a live in nanny as part of a foreign exchange program through the state department. They are online if you search Cultural Au Pair. The negative side to that decision is that the host family has to pocket a lot of transportation and legal expenses and a potential language barrier. That is where you come in as a nanny who is familiar with our culture/language/academics etc. How would your skill set be better than an international live in Au Pair? Would you be interested in live in or full time? What are your expectations of pay (lower than and Au Pair or don't apply!)? Let's make the next step a phone call with a brief introduction and maybe we can schedule a time to interview. Thanks and talk to you soon! Note: I removed the children's names, and dad's name and phone number before posting. |
| Eh I would have taken this in college assuming no scheduling conflict. But then I wouldn't have been willing to live in Owen Mills. |
The only thing wrong with this one is no mention of amount of hours |
Yeah maybe it's really very few hours but at unpredictable times, thus wanting a live-in? |
| Sounds like she's looking for a AP and then opening up the position to anyone locally. She's offering $10, up from the $7+/hour an AP makes, but probably wants the same job- 45 hours etc. |
What's wrong with this one? They are offering an hourly rate plus a stipend for a live-in nanny...that seems right to me. |
| Wait...Are they offering $10-15/Hr plus a weekly stipend on top of that? If this is the case, I wouldn't call this a bad job ad. |
| OP here. I checked in with the first poster. She listed $10-15/hour because she's factoring room and board into the pay. It's only $100 per week for full time hours. |
No, they are offering "All expenses paid. [...] ***$100 stipend weekly." which is half (!) of what an AP makes and as everybody agrees that AP pay is ridiculous, this offer is even more so. |
