I just received ! months notice

Hi guys. It is really a bummer since I do love my charges and their parents have always been great people. With it being christmas time I actually feel worse for them than myself. My db lost his job and his severence package was horrible. They have tons of expenses and the kids go to private schools that cost college type tuition. My MB was crying and shaking when she was talking about having to let me go. She is looking for a good public school for them now. They are traveling for the holidays (was planned months ago) so when they come back I will only have 1 week with them. Actually half of a week. So basically I was paid a months severance plus my bonus yesterday. I don't think they could really afford to do that but they did and Im grateful.

I don't know why Im not too troubled just yet about my finances, but all i can think about is my charges wondering where I have gone to. They don't live too far so i will get to see them but still. Please put me and the family in you alls prayers this season!

Bless you and the family. You are all good people. Such a breathe of fresh air around here. They really care about the nanny. I'm sure they'll give you an outstanding reference letter. You can ask if they forget. Never leave a job without one.

Thank you so much for the kind words! My Mb has already said she is writing one and the agency contacted me saying she called and gave a glowing review and reccomendation for me and that id better get a great family! She even offered to post anything Id like on their neighborhood page. I had to decline that one though since Ive babysat a couple of the kids lol, j/k. She was texting me making sure Im ok lol, bless her heart. She has been super stressed out and I hope she can relax a bit while they're away.

I should have a couple of interviews lined up next week.

So sorry to here this OP. It is terribly hard to leave the children you love. Ask MB if it's OK for you to keep in touch and visit or babysit occasionally. Good luck in your job search and I know you will find a great position soon! Best wishes to you.

If your charges are old enough to be in private school then surely they're old enough to understand why you're going to move on and won't "wonder where you've gone to."

thank you so much for such sweet words! I had an interview on Wednesday for a full-time position and they asked me to come back for a trial day for a couple of hours next week!
I was apprehensive about them but the agency assured me they were great. We clicked very quickly and the oldest was very drawn to me so I think those good vibes made it to the east coast!
