$12.50 per family.

Minimum. Three babies from three different families is hard, and if I remember correctly, the only way you get around having a second adult caring for 3+ infants is if they are all in the same family.

This has been discussed before and the consensus is that a three family nanny share is more than a little impractical. The best advice is to just do a nanny share with one other family (in which case each family would pay nanny $10-14/hr), or put your kid in daycare. There is no real financial incentive to add a third family because any nanny qualified enough to handle it won't do it for less than $30/hr anyway, but you might find a qualified nanny for a two baby share for $20/hr to start, so it still is $10/hr per family. Also things like strollers and car seats become infinitely more complicated when you're talking about three instead of just two. Just have a share with two families total or put your kids in daycare.

If there are three kids because it's twins and another child, the other child does a normal share, the twins have their own nanny.

The practical issues here would probably mean that the nanny can only doing outings within very near walking distance. Not sure it's ideal - your kid will get more fresh air in a daycare where they're set up with the bus-style strollers.

But if you want to do this, check with your local neighborhood listserves. Shares in my area are significantly less than what's cited here.

The amounts being quoted are for a triple share, which is a ton more work. Normal shares are lower.

I've heard of shares for 3 kids if there's a big age gap between 2 kids and the other kid, so either two babies and a school-aged kid (who is old enough not to require constant supervision and is there only part time anyway) or two school-aged kids and a baby. I've still only heard of it where there are only two families involved, though.

A triple share seems totally not crazy in the latter case: that is, 2 kids from 2 families in school at least part time (so PK3 age or older) and 1 of those kids little sibling. Especially if there had previously been a 2 kid share w/ the older 2 and both families want to keep the nanny.

That's much more reasonable than a share for three newborn to 2 year olds.
