I'm looking for a nanny/driver to help drive one of my kids to a couple appointments in the middle of the weekday (these are regular, weekly appointments) and do some sporadic babysitting (for two kids) on the weekends. My kids are 8 and 10.
The driving basically would be picking up my child from school, dropping him at the appointment (about an hour), and then picking him up and returning him to school. I'm wondering if anyone has advice on how to pay someone who does limited and sometimes sporadic work. Would you pay by the hour for the driving or maybe a flat rate? What do you think the going rate is? What's the going rate for babysitting? I live in Potomac. Thanks for the advice! |
That's not babysitting. Why don't you try to take advantage of someone you already know? |
Babysitting doesn't involve driving. Get a car service for the appointments and get a teenager for your kids on the weekends. Nannies won't keep the availability you want open unless it's guaranteed days and hours. |
You pay per hour from initial pick up to drop off as well as mileage if they are using their car. |
Just advertise and pay whatever you can get - these jobs are crazy hard to fill - no one wants that few hours if you find someone good, pay what they ask |
PP here - you have to pay by the hour in case of traffic or whatever, but give an estimate - $20/ hour for maybe 15-20 hours a week, or something like that |
Hello OP,
I am willing do drive your kid to appointments in the morning. I am a nanny and only work for my charges in the afternoon. Just let me know here and we can talk more about it. References are available upon request. |
