I live with my BF of five years and our two dogs. We're happy where we are at but I get this feeling my MB looks down on me like I'm beneath her. I honestly don't think she values my off time or considers my pups and BF my family. She constantly wants me to work long hours or work several weekends in a row. Now it's "I need you to go out of town with us for a few days." When I said I don't really want to be gone five nights she got all snappy. It's comments like "Well you don't have kids or anything." Or "Its just a dog." Like who the fuck are you? She's constantly telling me how hard it is "when you have a real family" to take care of. Bitch please....you have a lawn guy, maid, nanny, pool cleaner and a handy man. When did people get so lazy? "I'll need you Saturday. I need to do some stuff at bed bath and beyond." Seriously. The day I turn in my notice I'll dance all the way to my car. Vent over.

So, look for another job, get hired, and give her 2 or 4 weeks of notice.

Some people will never value you. Others will. Find someone who will. She sounds like a horrible person, because believe me, IF you had a child she'd still expect you to do all those things "because you are the nanny and I want this."

So find another job, and leave. Do it right, but leave. There are so many wonderful families looking for the right nanny, find that family and be gone!

MB here. Your employer is a real peach, she has no right to say things like " you only have a dog" or " you don't have real family", this is totally unacceptable, unprofessional and downright rude. I would look for a new job. GL!

Find a ne w job, give 2 weeks notice--no more. With a little luck, she'll let uou go immediately. You shoumd also tell that your NF and dogs atr your family and mean as much to you as her famly means to her.. Leave and never look back
