Opinions, moms and nannies. What do you think about potty boot camp for a 26 month old?
I.e., nanny and child stay home day after day until child can poop and urinate in the potty.

Depends on the child.

I did boot camps w/ my twins. One was ready and one wasn't. The one that was ready would have been ready at around 2 1/2, 2 3/4 probably but we waited until the other was more ready.

The ready one was basically done in 2 days. The not ready one is still a work in progress 9 months later.

OP here. Thanks. I was just wondering. A friend of mine is on lock down with the 26 month old until she's trained- they aren't to go anywhere until she's potty trained, including BM. It just seemed a bit early, but we're crossing our fingers!

26 months is not too early to start potty training but may well be too early to use any kind of a "boot camp" method. Why not just potty train the traditional and slow way?

My triplet charges were trained right before their second birthday. We used a modified boot camp method where we stayed home for a few days so that they could get some experience and success in underwear, but honestly they were the easiest kids I've ever trained so it pretty easy.
