I've been a member for five years, have 9 positive reviews, and a clean background check. I'm active on there. Today I get an email telling me my account was terminated. I'm in the midst of interviewing and was communicating with two families. I have no other way to contact them. I believe they get notice when I'm removed, and I am fearing it will tarnish my repuation. I'm pretty much freaking out. That is where I got most of my business, and now I have no way to respond to any of these families. I am unsure if it's a tech issue or glitch, because I know I did nothing wrong.
Has anyone experienced this? I'm thinking of contacting a lawyer to speak to them on my behalf. Possibly a lawsuit. |
Have you called care.com and asked them what's up ? |
HAHHA |
It's Sunday. I can't until tomorrow, but I don't think I will get any response. |
Why is that funny? I'm well connected with lawyers and publishers. I can easily get this story out. They have done this to many others. I want care.com shit down. |
I would love for you to try, it's always nice to have humorous stories on the news for a change. "Babysitter on a mission - Can't find work, blames the internet. One woman hilarious story." |

Never hurts to try . I would call tomorrow |
Care cares less than anyone I know, except about their profits. |
Did it say why you were shut down? If you were really not at fault, you should be able to work it out but I have no experience in this matter. I just know that other non-babysitting sites use some kind of computer formula to detect people doing stuff they are not supposed to do and sometimes the computer formula doesn't work and shuts people down. But if you are really innocent, there is some way to get it all back after calling them. If you are at fault, then you shouldn't have. |
Someone likely reported you and that is what caused them to delete your account.
Honestly there isn't really much you can do. When you sign up you click a little disclaimer agreeing to their terms of membership. They can delete any account they want. If I were you I'd probably just try to sign up with another email address. I've heard that doesn't always work though. |
No one has any reason to report me. I've been with my NF for a year and just started looking because they are moving. We are on great terms and they wrote a glowing review. I signed up with another email address and it was approved within two hours. I'm really confused by this. I didn't do anything to warrant an account termination. It sucks |
Care.com refuses to give an answer. Apparently they don't have to. At least that I've read. It seems to be common. I've read several complaints from both parents and nannies who were terminated without cause. I will call tomorrow but don't expect much from them. |
1) Try to work it out directly with Care
2) Sign up for Sittercity and join a nanny placement agency as well 3) If you're still on good terms with your past employers, which it sounds like you are, ask them to send a shout out on the neighborhood listserve that you're available for work. This is how a lot of nannies are placed in my area. |
How's the lawsuit coming? |
