We have been fortunate to find two incredible nannies through care.com. After a year and a half the first moved across the country after her fiance was transferred. We were super lucky to find a second nanny who was just as amazing, but, alas, this fall she's off to a full-time graduate program after 2 years with us.
I'm just so pessimistic about another search and how draining it will be. We only need someone part-time, so that significantly narrows the field of good candidates. We pay well, are nice, laid-back people, and DD is pretty easy-going. I just feel like there's no way we'll get so lucky a third time. Sigh. Pity party over. Wish us luck! |
What hourly rate? |
There are a bunch of people available, many quite good. And there will be more available closer to the beginning of the school year. |
Searching for a good nanny which means weeding out the not so good ones, can be grueling, I understand.
However, do not lose faith here OP. There are many good nannies out there looking for work. You state that you offer a good payment rate and are easy to work for. In all honesty, you will most likely attract some great candidates. Good luck and remember to stay positive. I am sure if you look hard enough, you will find yourself another amazing gem. |
