Please forgive my ignorance on this, I am very new to the concept of au pairs.
I am interested in hiring an au pair on a shorter term basis / around 4 months, coinciding with summer. Is it possible to get an au pair rematch in this scenario? If so, does anyone know how I might go about this? Thanks so much for any suggestions. |

Do you mean you want get an Au pair and rematch her after 4 months when you don't need her anymore.
Or do you want to get an Au pair in rematch for 4 months? |
| Either way, if you're not taking an AP for the full year, I don't think it would be worth the agency fees and added expense this would entail - even if it was allowed (and I don't think it is). I don't think the agencies offer any kind of pro-rated fee for this type of scenario. |

Yes, you can get a rematch au pair who only has a few months left in her year. The agency fee is pro-rated based on how many weeks you'll have the AP, so you aren't paying the full 8k fee for just four months.
Find out the biggest AP agency in your neighborhood, fill out the application, and let your coordinator know that you're on the hunt for rematch candidates with less than half a year left. Join the FB groups where APs & HFs can post ads for themselves. |
This - though beware you will have somewhat slim pickings. Not a terrible idea though! |
