Holy smokes these people are awful parents!

"Carey, 44, has admitted to having a high turnover rate of nannies in her home. "I fire nannies like this,” she told New York hip-hop radio station Power 105.1, snapping her fingers. "I hate doing it, but I have to ...if they try to make themselves more important in the baby’s mind than me."

Cannon, 34, also commented on his wife's quick termination of the help. "You know, the minute the child chooses to go to the nanny before they go to the mom ...I would have an issue with that too," he said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio this past April. "Everything is on a trial basis. We are always traveling, so the nanny just might not get a plane ticket to the next city."

I'm on the side of the kids.

MB here. My preschooler cheers more loudly when the nanny comes than when I come home. What I need to see is the nanny encouraging her attachment to me.

Those poor children. Poor little rich children. There's lots of them. Everywhere.

Team Nanny--she should be paid for her services.

Nanny should be paid for her services.
Not the first time Mariah has been accused of not following employment laws regarding pay.

If Mariah is worried about her kids bonding with the nanny maybe she should stop having one 100 hours a week.

She's got issues anyway.

Typical Mariah diva behavior. I am not surprised.

At least I give her credit for admitting what she does.

But have you seen the pics of her at the playground....??! Pushing her two kids on the baby swings wearing an evening gown, shawl and high heels?? WTF??

Anyway, any nanny who would work for Mariah is nuts to even accept the job. Just plain nuts. She gets what she deserves.

But Mariah needs to pony up and pay her OT.

Funny how the nanny doesn't state how much her hourly rate was.

Probably because she was already making a huge salary and if it was made public, people would take Mariah's side and say that she was paid more than enough for a day's or week's worth.

Maybe they even bought her a Mercedes or a BMW. Or a Rolls Royce.

Umm, no. I've heard from more than one source that Mariah is one of the worst celebrity jobs out there. Right up there with Kim and Kanye.

Also, she supposedly used to pay a fairly high salary of $500-$600 a day and now pays about $250/day. This figures have been quoted as a 24 hour daily rate. While I understand that is still a lot of money to a lot of people, it doesn't compare to a lot of other high profile or celebrity jobs.

You think that these celebrities would wise up and have solid contracts and pay completely legally. The employees always win these OT cases.

...I'm not sure what people expect when someone else is with their children for +50 hours a week. You need to encourage your child's attachment to you, it's not nanny's job.

It's not the people's business to decide how much is too much to pay to the nanny. She and Carey must have had an agreement on her pay rate. If Carey underpaid or didn't honor it, she should do what she committed to do. It doesn't matter if Joe Schmoe thinks it's too much and the nanny should just be happy with what she got.
