Best way to find nanny for two days per week? RSS feed

Can anyone give me ideas or tips as to the best way to find a two day per week nanny? I need 20-22 hours over the course of two days (Monday and Wednesday). I feel so overwhelmed.. care.com doesn't have much.

Ask everyone you know, if they have a recommendation.

Contact the colleges nearest your home and ask any nanny that you know. We found our nanny on care.com so I have no other suggestions - sorry.

PS Those are tough days to cover.

I would try sittercity.com as well.

Those days may work out for someone going to school on Tue and Thu.

Or also for a mother who stays at home with another small child if that is okay.

Or just perhaps for a retired person who doesn't mind babysitting, but doesn't want to do it every single day.

Or someone receiving disability benefits like SSI who may want to earn a little extra money on the side.

Just advertise on here. There are nannies who have other families they work for one to two days a week. I'm sure they could work you in.

Agree. Even their references are fake. Friends pretending to be employers.

It's unfair to make such a sweeping judgment. The "crazy" goes both ways, with everything. I've read some of the stuff posted by parents, and I'm embarrassed for them, and happy for the wonderful families I've been privileged to work for, since 1998.

+1. I've worked for four wonderful families that I've met on DCUM.

Exactly...so far, I've found some wonderful, salt of the earth, families on DCUM...a few that are not so wonderful, but in my world, the good, by far outweighs the bad.
