| If you have hired a graduate student full time for the summer to watch two children, how much have you paid per hour? This would be for NOVA. |
| You can try 15. and see what you get... |
| I made $20 in NWDC. |
| A grad student will probably charge you between 15-25. Some of them are pretty smart about what their work is worth. |
| I have made $25 an hour for part-time over the summer for the last 3 years. It's 20-30 hours a week, depending on activities and travel. |
| I find that once you are paying $600 (minimum for 40 hrs x $15) plus activties and gas, you might as well send the kids to camp. Whats the benefit of having a sitter? |
Depends on your kid. |
| And depends on how many kids. |
|
We paid $14 an hour for two elementary aged kids, provided vehicle, paid for fun outings (Six Flags passes, etc.) to keep it interesting. College student.

The benefit of having a nanny/sitter is control and flexibility. Nanny comes to us; I don't have to do a mad dash to/from day camps.
My kids attend one week of sleepaway camp because they love it, but otherwise we do a nanny. |
Same here. |
