We have a bathroom and bedroom downstairs with its own entrance/exit.
Can we legally offer that to someone to clean our home in exchange for free room and board? Just curious.... |
You CAN do it but it won't be legal. |
It's called work for rent. Legally, you're paying the person "in kind", effectively bartering, which is legal so long as the value of what you're providing equals or exceeds the value of the person's work. The in-kind payment is taxable.
Here's a website that can help you become a "host" of that sort - http://www.workaway.info/information-for-hosts.html - they lay out some parameters regarding they type of work and how much can be asked in exchange for providing room & board. |
Do you really want the woman who scrubs your toilets to live and eat with you? Think this through OP |
PP, do you think people that scrub toilets are
below you? You come off as being very conceited. |
Whether they are below you or not, you probably don't want to live with them. |
You are clueless? |
Ok Troll. Thank you for the input. |
I clean my toilets. Wear. Rubber gloves. Remove gloves and wash my hands with hot soapy water and cook donner. You are an idiot. |
Remember a few months back....??
That nanny from H E Double Hockey Stick?? The one who wouldn't leave?? And the family that couldn't get rid of her?? Because by law they had no rights. You don't want to be in that position OP. Because as your tenant, they will have unique right that you as their landlord will not be able to just kick them out just because you are unhappy with their services. Just some food for thought..... |
