It must really piss you off that people keep doing their own thing vs. what you'd like them to do, no? Now for the really important question: are you working on MLK Day? |
| People stop getting jealous that some parents can afford nannies while your on section 8 housing. You're the ones who are giving your kids a shitty life infront of a TV while you ignore them. Atleast these people can afford to have engaging nannies. |
I'm off - DB is a fed so I get them all very thankful
|
While we're ignoring trolls, lets add this one to the list. |
| Off as outlined in my contract and on my way to San Diego! |
|
I think MLK day is one of those weird federal holidays. I know so many people that don't have it off that I could completely see why it may have slipped a bosses mind that it is a federal holiday.
DH always forgets when it is a holiday if he is working and when we had a nanny, we outlined holidays specifically so there would be no confusion. (some fed holidays both of us worked, some just DH worked) and we will do the same thing once we enter back into the nanny world in a few months. |
| Bump, do nannies work this day? |
|
Every friggin' year ...
You work if it's in your agreement that you work. If your contract/agreement says nothing, you should a) assume you work and b) open your mouth and ask for a list of paid holidays. |
| I'm getting the day off as specified in my contract although T I really didn't realize it. Turns out both nanny families have to work so they hired someone else to cover for me that day even though I offered to come in. I think that was AWFULLY nice of them!!! |

I'm working.
As an aside, I don't really understand the vitriol about busy parents here. Busy working parents make my job possible, enable me to make a comfortable living and save for my future, and allow me to work as a full charge nanny without someone breathing down my neck. If every family decided that at least one parent would be a full time caregiving nanny jobs would be few and far between. My NF believes in quality time over quantity of time and I don't see anything wrong with that philosophy. |
| MB is off. DB is not. I only have to work 4 hours for MB to run errands. I work for awesome parents! |
