Standing up to a boss who is yelling at you is always an option. Try it sometime and see how much more respect you get when you do. |
Yeah that's totally wrong of him, OP. I wouldnt be ok with that!! |
I've been yelled at by a MB before. I was hurt and apologized to her for what had made her mad. The difference with my situation is that I had actually messed up with something and she was pissed about it. Though she shouldn't have yelled at me, I understood because I had messed up.
The OP didn't do anything wrong and for any of the PPs to act like she doesn't need to stand up for herself is crazy! OP- you need to speak up for yourself. You don't need to quit your job but you need to mention it to your bosses. Tell them that it's not your job to wake DB up and that you don't appreciate being spoken to in that way. |
OP, you are not HIS nanny for Christ's sake!! He is a grown-ass man and it is up to him and him alone to get himself up from bed and to work on time. It would have been completely inappropriate if you walked into his bedroom to wake him up. He is just a jerk and I cannot believe he said what he said to you. His remarks are completely off the cuff.
You sound like a wonderful and caring nanny and honestly, take this as a red flag that this family does not respect you. What this husband said to you was 100% unwarranted and he owes you a complete apology. If he still continues to blame you w/out taking full responsibility, then try to find another position. Trust me, any job where you are treated so rotten that it leaves you in tears is not worth your time. I have been there many times OP. So sorry this happened to you today. Feel better knowing you did everything right. I would have done the same exact thing. Well, except apologize to this jerk off for not waking him up. Good Luck. |
OP again.
I had the weekend to think about things, and read the replies and I do know that what he did was wrong. As of now I am still not thinking about quitting because I really do rely on this job, and this has been my only major problem. If something happens again, I may change my mind. He has not apologized but he has been acting strange, I think he realized he looked like a fool. |
