PP again here -- OP, your placement fee would be smaller because it is for PT help. So don't be discouraged by that. My point is that it cuts down a lot of the vetting time and they will match you only with candidates who are looking for the hours you need.
And, the three candidates who came through our door were quality. |
Our former awesome nanny is looking right now for a PT position (she is on sittercity, called to ask if I would be willing to provide her a recommendation). She is in NoVa, but does not drive. Let me know if you are interested. |
If she needs to leave after three months (family emergency, whatever), then what? Do you get the pleasure of forking over another $7K? Or you they give you replacement options? |
Good question. Part of that money includes a guarantee to find you a new person if either I or she decide to end our contract. I think that lasts for six months. The fee also gives me access to their emergency or temporary care folks. |
We also recently were looking for a part-time nanny and like the PP ended up using an agency. It was just too difficult to find a PT nanny on my own. We got several wonderful candidates to choose from as well. We also had to pay a placement fee but it was much less than $7k and if it doesn't work out for some reason the agency will work with us so we aren't paying the full placement fee again. |
