Care.com application

If you submit an application on Care.com for a job how soon would you expect to hear back from the parent? If you do not hear back from the parent would you contact them again saying something?

I would expect to hear back at anytime really - sometimes the same day, sometimes it's days later, sometimes even weeks later - after I've found a new job.

You can try following up and sending a second message a few days later but it's probably not worth it.

The families get overwhelmed with so many applicants that they are probably only able to respond to their top choices. You also may have gotten lost in the shuffle.

Well in that case, I would wait at least a couple of days, and then send a short follow up note with something like "I recently applied to your job posting. I hope you will consider me as a candidate as I really think I would be a perfect fit for the position because (give your reasons). I am available to interview this week. Please let me know if you would be interested in meeting. Thanks for your time!"
