how much would it cost to have a "diver" pick up a kid from school RSS feed

we wanted to hire someone who would pick up our 6yo DD from her school and drive her to grandparents house.
how much would something like that cost?
Any suggestions of how to look for a person that would be interested in a job like that.

Thanks

Price always depends on the specifics. From where to where? What kind of person do you want? How much do you care about their car? Their personal/professional presentation? Any special issues?

How far is the grandparent's house from the school? It might be better to see if there is another parent who will be picking up their child who is willing to do this for you in exchange for money, or a babysitting trade (like if once a month you can babysit their child(ren) for date night or something)

The problem with the job you need to hire for, is it is in the middle of the day, and short in duration--so a driver/nanny will need to charge a premium price to make it worth their while.

Do any of the grandparents neighbors have a nanny with a car? This would be a very strange thing to ask but with enough creativity you might make it worth their while. Just don't be overly sensitive if they say "no" and don't want to hear you out. I could see myself doing it for a neighbor of a family I had been with for years and really like. Of course, only at my bosses invitation. The other issue is liability. A professional company has the insurance to cover any liability whreas I would need you to cover a rider on my insurance, even if I loved your parents to pieces and was happy to do it.

You're better off finding another parent (or caregiver) from the school who is headed generally in the grandparents' direction and ask them. I don't know anyone who works who has 30-60minutes free in the middle of the day for a drive - and one hour's pay is not exactly a living wage.
