I currently stay home with my 2 year old son.
He is very social and we have so much fun when I watch my friends' kids. Has any other stay at home mom taken in another child as a job? Just wondering, it seems like such a great idea. Not exactly a true nanny but it seems better for the kids too especially if they are an only child. I haven't heard of anyone that has done it but seems like such a great idea. |
Of course it can be a great thing. You may need a license. Where do you live?
Well I was thinking only one child and part time. And woodley park
You didn't ask, but at most I'd expect to pay $10/hr for a setup like that.
I don't think you need a license as long as it's only one other child, but I live in CA so check your state's laws.
This was the care situation we had for DS, until we ended the arrsngement. The SAHM nanny bit off a bit more than she could chew. She lost the freedom of staying at home and had another kids, my sons, schedule to contend with. I also got tired of my son being dragged along to hair cuts, ballet performances, and play dates for her 2 year old . Also- what happens when the kids get sick? Or when you get sick? We switched to daycare as soon as we could. She was great- and loved my kid , but we needed longer term reliability.
Have friends who do this. One has been doing it for 3 years. She just finds families who fit well with her kid and love the added playmate. Another one didn't like it because she had another child and it became too much.
I do this in DC and get paid $15/hr.
