I have worked for my wonderful nanny family for 5 months.
I moved to the area I work in around the same time. Most of my babysitting clients live quite far from where I reside now. I've been trying to build a client base in this area but Sittercity and Care.com haven't produced any jobs that pay above minimum wage. I would like to ask my MB if she would mind referring her friends to me for babysitting work. It would never effect my availability to her. Is this asking too much? |
| No. Tell her you need to make ends meet. Let her know she'll have priority if she can give you a reliable schedule. GL. |
No, it's not asking too much.... |
| No not at all! I've been more than happy to tell my friends about DS' nanny's availability to babysit (at her request). We rarely use her to babysit DS because family usually wants to so there are no worries about availability or anything like that. |

OP here. Thank you PPs!
They give me a very reliable schedule...I'm just trying to put extra $ away right now. |
| You should definitely ask them. I doubt if they would refer you otherwise because they may feel the last thing you'd want to do after a week of nannying is babysitting. But if you're up for it and they like you, I'm sure they'd be happy to do so. I know I would be. |

OP. We have a fantastic working relationship!
She told me today that she would be lost without me. It's always nice to hear! I'll ask her on Monday. Thanks everyone! |
