South Asian Play Group

We have a 5 month old baby boy and are interested in starting a South Asian play group. We live in the Mount Vernon Triangle area. Please let us know if you are interested in something like this. Thanks!

Is your baby adopted? I have a friend who is an international adoption lawyer and has started several playgroups for adopted children of various ethnicity.

I'm pretty sure your child doesn't care about the ethnicity of his playmates. Could you imagine if someone tried to start a "white" playgroup?

You mean like 75% of existing playgroups? Sometimes its just nice to not be the token minority. Imagine, if you are white, going through your entire life, being the only, or one of a few of your race, in every single social situation outside of familial interactions. Don't you think that sometimes you might seek out the company of people that share your background? A "white" playgroup is not necessary, and the false comparison only highlights your ignorance.

Oh OP, I'm so sorry for these responses. There is a knee jerk racist call out every time someone seeks out the company of people who are of the same ethnicity as themselves. Try a neighborhood list-serve or a community center...the women on here are just too damn judgmental.

It was a random number chosen to illustrate "strong majority, but of course not all". But, please, do pick at small details of my post and ignore the rest, since you can't put together a real counter argument.
