Parent Asks: Would you ever pluck the eyebrows of a young child without asking for permission of the parents?
Our new nanny plucked the eyebrows of my 4-year-old because she said my daughter has a unibrow. I'm so upset that she would make such a vain statement and risk hurting my daughter for such a vain reason and I scolded her for doing so before asking for permission. Just wondering if professional nannies feel like I am justified in being upset or am I overreacting? |
| well I think scolding an employee is overreacting. I would have talked to her about it (yes it would have annoyed me too) but when you cross over to scolding or yelling, I think it crosses a line. |
| I'm a nanny and doing something like this would never occur to me. And to do so without asking the parent first? Sorry, insane. Don't blame you for being upset. Almost suspect this story is made up, it's so unbelievable. |
Scolding doesn't necessarily mean yelling. It's a pretty awful thing to do to a 4-year old. Although I'm also with PP a little bit that it is so crazy it's hard to believe this is true. |
True but I cannot imagine scolding to mean "talking to in a professional manner". Would you want your boss to scold you for doing something? |
If it was something as idiotic as plucking a four year old's eyebrows because I thought she had a uni-brow, I would fully understand my boss firing me, let alone a little scolding. If someone did this to my child I would have a hard time not raising my voice, boss or no. If this is true, OP, your nanny has some serious judgment, or lack thereof, issues. This would be a huge red flag for me. Unacceptable. |
| I think it's a troll post Ot by op on here but on the page it originated from. I think a "parent" asked this after hearing about a reality star doing it to her 4 year old daughte |
| Sorry this story is just too ridiculous. Thanks for the laugh! |
| I don't buy this. Have you been watching interviews with Farrah Abrahmson again? |
+1 |
| This was asked on a nanny Facebook page I am on. Looks like OP copied and pasted it here. |
