| I am currently working on editing my resume and would like to change up the skills section. What do you have under yours? I know what skills I have, but I'm unsure of the wording to use. |
|
I list any special crafting things I can do, any certifications I might have, things like that. So it looks like this:
Special Skills- Strong Swimmer, Knitting skills, Basic Sewing Knowledge, Valid VA Drivers License, CPR Certified, Epi-Pen Trained |
| it is fine. no need to change. |
| I use a CV format rather than a resume and it works really well when it comes listing certifications. I personally want them to standout so I use the skills section for random education related information like curriculum creation and implementation |
| I'd list safety-related certifications separate from skills--so have a list of things like CPR certifications, lifeguard certifications, driver's license, etc., and then a list of things like knitting, sewing, experience teaching children's gymnastics, whatever. |
| I list the safety basics - CPR and first aid and life guarding qualifications specifically - and then things I think are relevant to the position. Jobs with three young boys? I play up my college sports skills. Younger kids? I make sure to outline my cooking skills and history as an art teacher. Honestly I make minor adjustments for every job I apply to so I'm not overloading them with info but offering them the list of targeted skills I think (or they've expressed) they want. Literally have ALWAYS gotten an offer this way. |
