Bragging over bonuses in the main forum:

And yet people are here bemoaning giving nanny a week's salary of what $1000? Get real.

Nice try, OP, linking to a troll thread where only three people in 4 pages bragged about alleged bonuses to make a nonexistent link to nanny bonuses. You don't even know if those posters even have nannies, making your post even more ridiculous.

But, hey, rock on with your ignorant self.

Your nanny probably isn't as dumb as you seem to think she is, pp. GL.

MY nanny isn't which is why she's getting a bonus. You, however, are a different story. Agree with quoted PP, nice try attempting to using that thread as a reason why employers of nannies are stingy. There are very few people in this area making that kind of money. I make less per year than her bonus and I have never received a bonus (that just doesn't happen in my line of work).

They tell us nannies not to expect a bonus... I wonder if the 300k bonus person expected any bonus at all?

Hijacking this thread with a little positivity.

I'm a nanny working both a FT job and a PT job. My FT MB usually gives me my bonus around the 23rd but my PT MB, for whom I work only 8 hours a week, gave me $200 yesterday. SO NICE! I also babysit for a family 2-4 nights per month and they gave me $100 and some home cooked treats this week. I'm very lucky to work for so many generous families.

There are some lovely families in the area. many of them don't post on here....Thankfully.

the fact that some mom (who we don't know if she's an MB or not) gets a bonus does not mean that those posting here that they do not get bonuses are lying. Why is that a hard concept to understand?

OP's post shows that she feels entitled to what others have. I will not get a huge bonus, if I get a bonus at all, it will be about 2% of my salary like last year's was. I'm in a different field, have less experience and less education than many of those very high earners. There's no way I could make that kind of money.
Yet, the nanny with minimal education and work experience thinks she should get a big bonus because those in a completely different line of work are.

What makes you think you know OP's work experience or education? The fact that you assume she's inexperienced or uneducated says a lot.

Read the OP again folks. It was about the crap nannies always hear about how bonuses just don't happen for most people so why should a nanny get one. People DO get bonuses, so lets cut that shit out. That is all.

My apologies. I suppose it's possible for a nanny to have an MBA and to have worked in finance for the past 15 years.

What is wrong with you? It is completely possible for a nanny to have an advanced degree, and 15 years of experience in her field. Are MBAs and finance experience how you measure the worth of everyone no matter the field? Lol

No, stupid. Those are the employees who are getting the huge bonuses OP is comparing herself to.

I haven't seen any post that said NO ONE gets a bonus. But a lot of people don't. So using one post from one person who got a bonus (she's also clearly a minority given how much her annual salary is as well) doesn't prove anyone wrong when they said they didn't get a bonus. It's faulty logic and only hurts your argument.
