Prepaid card for use by nanny? RSS feed

Has anyone successfully gotten a prepaid card for the use of your nanny? What I'm looking for is an easy way to provide incidental spending money for our nanny - e.g. to buy groceries - without me always having to have cash on hand.

With apps like square cash readily available and easily set up, and generic gift cards available at any grocery store, you'd think it shouldn't be so hard to find a card that provides the following features:
a. has low monthly fee
b. can be anonymous or in the name of the kid/nanny
c. allows online transfers from your bank account to the card's account.

SunTrust (with which I have an account) just launched a line of prepaid debit cards, but it violates both b. and c. (the latter I was not informed of; I was explicitly told it was possible; it is not)
Western Union seems to have the answer, but their signup form ends with an unspecified error (after you've gone through the entire signup process no less)
Visa Buxx has bad reviews (violates a. above, as well as c.)
Bank of America does not offer anything like it

Anyone?

How long have you had the nanny?

Nanny here. At my old job we used the Pass Card from Amex.

Nanny Here. My employers buy those pre paid Visa gift cards for me to use. They typically buy 2 $100 cards and when I get about 1/2 through the 2nd one I let them know. I don't think they do, but they can always look online at the transactions to see where it's being spent.

I have USAA; maybe B of A has something similar to this:

We set up a second checking account, and the nanny is an "agent" on that account. She gets a debit/credit card in her name, and can access that account only. I can transfer funds from our other accounts. I can also add or delete her; she cannot do that herself.

Our nanny has a credit card from our regular line in her name. I trust her with my life, and obviously with my children's lives. I'm not worried she's going to use the card to buy a car and drive into the horizon.

Ditto. How could we trust her with our kids if we can't trust her with our credit card? It costs nothing to add another user to your account.

Good to know, pp. we have USAA also, and have been wondering how to get our nanny a prepaid card.

We set up a credit card in our nanny's name with a low limit. Bill comes to us. Her name is on the card.
